That’s my guitar down there. I’m not some guitar geek but I did just bust a string and thought I’d fill the break in recording with a blog post.
Anyway, I’d guess the album is around fifty percent finished. My intention was to write some sort of recording diary as it’s the kind of thing I like to read myself, but to be honest I think it would be a little boring. I have been filming bits and pieces though and intend to put a little documentary together in time for release.
There’s more KPK comment at Under the Radar and Sweeping the Nation and the BBC were kind enough to play Walking on Eggshells too but I’m guessing that’ll be long gone from the iplayer. Cheers.

Below is a picture of my recording studio, and when I say recording studio I mean my house. I’ll be busy in this ‘studio’ for some weeks recording an album and unfortunately for my neighbours I tend to work best late in the evening and early in the morning.
If you’re bored today you should listen to PodcART Episode 74. There’s much good music on there, and sweary words too. There’s also a good piece on Scottish music at Drowned in Sound. I’m on there, scroll down to the bottom. Cheers.

I’m very pleased to say that the first King Post Kitsch album will be released on Song, by Toad Records early next year. It feels like only a few months have passed since I put out the first EP so it’s all happened rather quickly.
Cheers to all who have supported or downloaded the music so far. It’s much appreciated. Stay tuned!

Cheers to all who downloaded Monomaniac this week. Feel free to spread it about a bit (the music).
Thanks to all who wrote about or played the EP this week. You can download some fine podcasts from Cloud Sounds and Song By Toad. You can read some KPK text at Peenko, The Mad Mackerel, Listen Before You Buy and if you prefer it in German you should go to I Am No Superman or White Tapes.
And did I tell you, there’s a wee video here.

A friend of mine has only just gone and released a free EP. Frivolous Laura is the name. I even played a wee bit of guitar on it.
If I was you, I would have a listen.

“I like the weird and wonderful, especially when people like King Post Kitsch mix a distorted guitar and a sweetly sung tune just right, as he does on “Fante’s Last Stand”
Not my words of course, they’re from the fine folks at Love Shack Baby. Read the rest HERE. Also a nice wee notice from Listen Before You Buy HERE.

Nice review from the folks at Song By Toad
“Well well well, this is extremely good indeed. King Post Kitsch is an exiled Weegie currently residing in London, and was recommended to me by Lloyd from Peenko. I’ve been a little slow on that count, I suppose, because everyone and their blogger seems to have been chattering about this EP for a while now actually, but er… well, you know how it goes around these parts”

Song By Toad inlcuded Alaska in Toadcast #109 - The Suitcast
Cloud Sounds played Fante’s Last Stand in a Scottish Special
And though not officially the weekend, I dragged myself out of bed on this wet Monday morning to find a wee review from the folks at Aye Tunes
